12DOC: Oh My Fluffy Dog Bandana & Scarf

This is Day 1 of our 12 Days of Christmas Posts and I am so excited to bring this to you. I will have all posts together on one page, so that you can go through that page if you are interested in reading all of our posts. You can view that page here. All giveaways within this period last two weeks from the day that the post is originally posted, and are only available within New Zealand. Giveaway winners will be announced on my social media and vlog channel. Now let's get into today's post:

Oh My Fluffy Dog is a New Zealand business that creates amazing apparel and other pieces that are focused around dogs. If you have read anything on our blog before, you probably know that I am obsessed with Oh My Fluffy Dog and the stuff they make. Lu created Oh My Fluffy Dog with her husband and since then has taken over the Dog Instagram community within New Zealand. Through Instagram, Lu and I have become good friends and I have been able to work the stall with her at both the Christchurch and Auckland Pet Expos. When she told me she was looking at creating bandanas, I was super excited of course, but when she said that she is looking at making them as adventure proof as possible, she had me hooked.

Lu let me get one of the original test bandanas to see how they would stand up to being worn by a small dog, that also is crazy about the beach, and water. The actual bandanas that got made are in the same fabric, but the print is blown up bigger, there is button fastenings and the OMFD is in white and bigger. I have worked and seen the actual bandanas however, as they were released at the Auckland Expo where I spent a day promoting, selling and styling the bandanas to a range of new people. The toughness, and durability of the bandana are the same to the bandana that you see Diego wearing in these photos. For comparison, I have added some photos of other dog friends from Instagram wearing the actual bandanas.

The bandana comes in two different colour combinations, one has more red & black colours on it, the other has more pink and blue. Both are beautiful! If I didn't own too many excessive bandanas I definitely would have got another two of them. The actual bandanas themselves can vary in appearance as the print is blown up huge, and then individual bandanas cut from that, so you could get two of the same colour,  and have each bandana look remarkably different. Since release, I have seen both colour combinations on a range of different dog colours and they all look so good! The fabric is a canvas material, which makes it thick, durable and keep its shape a lot better than a more cotton material. Due to it being canvas, it also doesn't crinkle, or droop when wet which is a huge bonus for me due to Diego zooming in and out of water on most walks. In my photos of Diego wearing the bandana at the beach, you can't tell, but this is after he had already dove head first into the waves.

Keeping on the same track with the material, it is also amazingly easy to clean. I made a video for my YouTube channel where we trialled a few different things to see how well the bandana stood up. In the uncut version, after I wet the bandana and completely cover it in mud you can hear me saying 'Well why did I do this, it is definitely not going to come out'. However, if you watch the video you will see that it comes out completely clean!! I was so shocked as I have a few stained bandanas from Diego dirtying them in mud so didn't expect it to wash clean from just the hose.

Now, if you are a crazy dog person like me, you cannot look passed a matching outfit with your dog. Oh My Fluffy Dog understands this and they have accommodated our crazy perfectly. To go along with each colour of bandana, OMFD has made a matching scarf. These are a thin, silky material scarf that is perfect for wearing with your dog rocking their bandana, but actually could be worn without your dog and still look amazing. Let's be honest, I am not a super scarfy person. I am generally in workout gear, or muddy clothes from working around the garden and hiking. I am also one of those people in Summer that want to wear as little clothes as possible, and in Winter, I am freezing and have way too many warm layers on.

In saying that though, I was tempted to buy one! I didn't as I am trying to be more conscious of my spending and only buy things I absolutely need so that I can save for a house. Surprise. The scarf itself is super long, which makes it even more versatile. It would be the perfect length to make one of those cute tops that Instagram girls wear, where you tie a scarf around your chest and you are ready for a photoshop. It would also be an amazing beach cover-up and due to the length can be made into a range of different tops or cover ups. Obviously you can also just use as a round the neck scarf, and it looks great that way too.

The scarf is different to anything that Oh My Fluffy Dog has made before, but working with it at the Auckland Expo, I fell more and more in love with it. It kind of made me wish I was a more put together person than I actually am! I have also seen DragonandPup rock the matching scarf and bandana combo, with an Oh My Fluffy Dog top and it looks top notch! When writing this post, I asked Lu to send me a photo of her wearing the scarf, and since seeing her wear it as a circle scarf, I am absolutely in love, and my hands are struggling to not go buy one!

Now is your chance to win a matching set so you can be just as cute! All you have to do is follow the prompts below, we cannot ask for follows or likes, but if you would like to give that extra love to both DaisyPets and OhMyFluffyDog we would be more than grateful and appreciative. Any further questions, feel free to send me a message!
