12DOC: Cove Body

This is Day 9 of our 12 Days of Christmas Posts and one that is close to my heart. I will have all posts together on one page, so that you can go through that page if you are interested in reading all of our posts. You can view that page here. All giveaways within this period last two weeks from the day that the post is originally posted, and are only available within New Zealand. Giveaway winners will be announced on my social media and vlog channel. Now let's get into today's post:

We are changing it up today on the blog, and instead of focusing entirely on dog related products, I am branching out to review a body care brand that is vegan, ethical, with no nasties that is homemade. Cove Body is owned by Kayley who happens to be a friend of mine and is based in the Wellington region (Finally Wellington is coming to the table with a business). All their products are made with natural ingredients that are easy to read and understandable, and are completely vegan. They do not, and never have tested on animals making them an amazing brand to support! By the way, there is a reason I have taken photos off their website instead of taking my own... all my products are well loved and don't look cute but there is one photo in here showing what my products now look like!

I originally got the Matcha Clay Mask for my birthday and have been using it ever since. It comes in powder form, which you then mix with a tiny bit of warm water to create the perfect face mask consistency.  If you are wanting more from the mask, you can even mix in a different liquid like yoghurt, rose water or coconut water - the world is your oyster! I honestly have only used it with water, and although sometimes I completely ruin the consistency by making it to watery, it still works as a mask. Plus, if you are good at following instructions and measuring things, it has the measurements on the container on how to mix it properly. This is a fantastic mask, and makes my skin so soft and supple. It dries down to quite a hard crust, which with a hot flannel you can easily wipe off. Due to the matcha, it has stained my flannels so if you are worried about staining, I would suggest to get just their normal Detox Clay Mask instead. Another reason you might want to go for the Detox instead of the Matcha is incase of allergies. I have super sensitive skin and it is fine, but when I done the mask on my younger sister, her face blew up. It was red, puffy and hot in the exact spots where the mask had been. I talked to Kayley about this and she stated that this has happened once before and is potentially from the Matcha Powder. If you aren't sure how your skin would react, I would advise to do a test patch on your arm first! Don't let all this put you off though, I am obsessed with this product and will be buying it again once I run out. I find it does wonders to my skin, and use it once a week to keep my skin looking fresh and supple.

Now, as much as I love the Clay Mask, nothing compares to this Coffee Body Scrub. If you have never tried a coffee scrub, you need to get onto it! I had never previously used a coffee scrub, but since using this one I would never go back. I also use this about once a week to once a fortnight and find it the perfect way to exfoliate my entire body. It leaves my skin smooth, and with a moisturised feeling. After using this, I honestly do not have to moisturise for a few days afterwards because my skin already feels so hydrated. This product is amazing since I work out a lot that I do worry about my body skin and all the sweat that just sits on it after a workout, TMI I know. This is now a staple in my routine, and will be repurchased constantly to make sure I never run out!

Cove Body has some other amazing looking products on their site which I am yet to try but includes a Milk Bath and Facial Steam. I just love how natural everything is, and you can just tell that Kayley really cares about the products she is making. Cove Body has offered for our giveaway to send one lucky winner a packet of their Coffee Scrub! This is such a kind gesture, and it would mean the world to us both if when you visit our Social Media pages as part of the competition that you gave them a follow. We cannot legally request this as a requirement for entry, but if you like what we do it would be amazing if you could follow us!
